Bundesliga 22/23: all important information

1, FC Union Berlin – RB Leipzig

The first game of our Bundesliga preview starts on Saturday at 18:30 in the stadium at the old forestry in Berlin. RB Leipzig plays at 1st FC Union Berlin.

Union Berlin is once again playing in the international cup. The newcomer to the league has meanwhile developed into a permanent fixture in the Bundesliga and can hope to participate in the international competition again this year. After two match days they are in 5th place in the table. First they won the Berlin city derby against Hertha, then they got a point in the 0-0 draw in Mainz. In the DFB Cup, they only prevailed in extra time against Regionalliga side Chemnitzer FC. The previous encounters speak less for the Berliners. The capital club lost 6, with only 4 wins. The last three games in the league, however, Union was able to win all against RB Leipzig with 2:1 each. Thorsby probably can’t start yet, Baumgartl is certainly missing.

RB Leipzig qualified for the Champions League last season and would like to repeat this as much as possible. But this requires victories, which have so far been in short supply. Against Stuttgart and Cologne they played only draws and in the Supercup they went down with 3:5 against Bayern. Now a U-turn is needed. But for the game Gulacsi, Klostermann and Poulsen are missing injured. Szoboszlai is suspended after his red card.

Due to the home strength, the form and the last three duels, some actually speak for the supposed outsider from Berlin. So the 3.60 odds for a victory of the Unioner will be quite exciting, Leipzig has a victory rate of 2.05. Since Leipzig played the first two games of the season in a draw, the 3.50 odds for a draw will also be exciting.

Eintracht Frankfurt – 1. FC Köln

On Sunday at 15:30 there will be a classic between Eintracht Frankfurt and 1st FC Cologne. Kick-off is at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt.

After winning the Europa League, but the weak league performance, things should now go better for Frankfurt in the league. But despite well-known new additions (Götze etc.), this has not yet succeeded. After the 1:6 opening defeat against Munich, they lost the UEFA Super Cup against Real with 0:2 and then played 1:1 against Hertha. Thus, after two matchdays, they are on a disappointing 16th place in the table. After all, Frankfurt can score with the last direct encounters. Of the last 7 home games against Cologne, they lost only one. Overall, however, Cologne leads with 41 victories to 38 victories for Eintracht. Buta, Onguené and Toure are missing injured, although especially the latter failure could hurt the defense.

After a strong season with the successful participation in the qualification in the Europa Conference League, things are going well for the Cologne team so far this season. Although they were eliminated against Regensburg in the DFB Cup, but then they won against Schalke and separated 2-2 from Leipzig, which puts them in 3rd place in the table. Especially the offense knew how to convince in the two games, which could also be the case against Frankfurt, who already had to accept 7 league goals. Mark Uth and Limnios are missing for the game.

Although Cologne is at the top of the table, Frankfurt has the lower win rate with 2.05 (Cologne 3.40). This makes it very tempting to bet on a victory for the Cologne team. Less risk is in the bet “both teams meet”: Yes, here there is a low, but low-risk 1.55 odds.
